Hertz Car Sales, the retail arm of the Hertz rental company, announced it now offers online car purchases from its own website. Shoppers nationwide can browse, finance, and buy vehicles online directly from the company.

With this expansion, HertzCarSales.com has evolved from being more than an online discovery site for its inventory of former rental cars, the company said. Customers can now use the site to get a trade-in offer, get pre-qualified for a loan, view personalized monthly payments, check out warranties and maintenance plans, and finalize their purchases.

The announcement follows one in August in which Hertz Car Sales began offering inventory online through an arrangement with Amazon Autos. That deal expanded Amazon’s budding online car-selling program from an original arrangement with just Hyundai dealerships.

In Hertz’s announcement, the company said the Amazon arrangement is going full steam. From an early launch in four cities, it has since expanded to all of Hertz Car Sales 45 locations across the U.S.

Now customers can buy Hertz inventory through both online channels as well as from various other car retailers including Carvana.

CEO Gil West wrote in the announcement: “Our new e-commerce platform marks a major step forward in modernizing how we serve our customers with a seamless journey from browsing to ownership. By enhancing our digital capabilities, we’re meeting customers where they are and giving them greater visibility into our inventory, easier purchasing processes, and broader access to quality Hertz vehicles. This also marks a critical milestone in executing our strategy to make retail our primary car selling channel.”
