Vuokraovi.com is the new Finnish online marketing place focusing on rental homes.
According to owner Alma Media, one of the largest media companies in Finland, the Finnish home rental market suffers from an imbalance in supply and demand. More than 250,000 flats are standing empty in the country, but still rental homes are in short supply, especially in growth centers.
Vuokraovi was launched to meet that need – a place where renters can find a new abode from companies, municipalities and private landlords.
“In Finland there has not been such a marketplace before, which concentrates only on the rent market,” said Paula Jokisalo, marketing Manager at Alma Media. “There has been a need for catch-all rentals marketplace to find the supply quick and easy.”
According to Jokisalo, the new site today counts about 30,000 visitors weekly. “I was surprised that the visitors have increased week by week. The marketing has still been calm,” she said. TV and radio campaigns were set to begin this month.
Besides Vuokraovi.com, Alma Media’s Marketplaces include Etuovi.com, Autotalli.com, Monster.fi, Mascus.com, Mikko.fi, City24, Motors24, Bovision and Objektvision. The company showed slower growth in the second quarter, attributed to flagging home sales in Estonia and a slowdown in job advertising in Finland.
