AutoScout24 revs up brand portal with Opel as first partner https://aimgroup.com/2025/10/26/autoscout24-revs-up-brand-portal-with-opel-as-first-partner/ Sun, 26 Oct 2025 13:35:08 +0000 https://aimgroup.com/?p=758652 The advertising division of Germany-based auto marketplace AutoScout24 has introduced its “brand hub,” a new digital platform designed to give car manufacturers “a dynamic space for brand storytelling within the AutoScout24 vehicle marketplace.” The first partner is Opel, one of Germany’s oldest and biggest car manufacturers, which is showcasing its new Grandland SUV as part of the launch.

The brand hub is directly integrated into the AutoScout24 search environment and lets brands present their vehicles in “an interactive, personalized, and targeted way.” Visitors can explore models in detail, configure their favorite version, and book test drives.

“With the brand hub, we’ve developed a format that not only increases visibility but truly brings a brand to life,” said Mike Klinkhammer, general manager of sales, media and finance, at AutoScout24 Media. “Whether for a broad brand presence or a specific model launch, we work closely with manufacturers to create tailor-made concepts.”

According to AutoScout24, the brand hub follows a three-phase approach that guides users along the customer journey. In the awareness phase, stronger visibility through exclusive placements and advertising ensures that potential buyers take notice of the brand and its models.

The consideration phase then deepens engagement, offering interactive features such as color configurators and 360-degree views that invite users to explore vehicles in detail. Finally, the activation phase provides practical tools like test drive bookings and direct links to vehicle listings, creating a seamless transition from discovery to decision-making.

AutoScout24 Media will manage the entire process: from concept and creation of all advertising materials to site implementation and detailed performance tracking. Additional manufacturer partnerships are already underway, alongside plans for a gradual rollout of the marketing solution across Europe, the company added.

The new brand hub builds on AutoScout24’s extensive reach. According to the company, with more than 2 million vehicle listings and around 30 million monthly users, AutoScout24 is Europe’s largest online car marketplace. Beyond Germany, the AutoScout24 Group operates across major European markets, including Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Poland, and Sweden.

“With the new brand hub on AutoScout24, we are creating another opportunity to bring the Opel brand to life and offer interested parties quick and transparent access to our models,” said Cristiano Colaiacomo, marketing director at Opel Germany.

Berlin-based digital auto retailer Auto1 Group SE has announced that it will appoint Christian Wallentin (above) as CFO as of Jan. 1, 2026. He succeeds Markus Boser, who will step down at the end of the year after a decade with the company. There will be “a joint transition period,” with Boser for two months, beginning Oct. 1, the company said. Wallentin will join the board of Auto1 on Jan. 1.

Wallentin left Hoist Finance, where he was CFO and deputy CEO, earlier this year. He had joined the company in 2021.

Prior to that, he spent more than a decade at Nordea, where he was a senior executive.

He is also the co-founder and former CFO of Estonia-based Luminor Bank. In this role, he was “responsible for creating, merging and developing Luminor to become an independent pan-Baltic customer-oriented financial ecosystem to enable an exit from the Baltic markets for the bank owners,” according to his LinkedIn profile.

Earlier in his career, Wallentin worked in private equity at Permira and investment banking at Goldman Sachs.

He holds a master’s degree in economics and business administration from the Stockholm School of Economics and a CEMS master’s in international management from ESADE Business School.

Wallentin commented: “I am delighted to be joining the AUTO1 Group’s executive board and to take on the role of CFO at the beginning of next year. I see enormous potential in the European used car market, and, together with our motivated team, I am looking forward to the promising journey that lies ahead.”

Hakan Koç, chairman of the supervisory board of Auto1 Group, said: “We are delighted to have gained Christian Wallentin, an experienced financial expert and strong leader, for the position of CFO and welcome him to AUTO1 Group. We would like to thank Markus for his many years of excellent service. He has contributed significantly to the financial success of AUTO1 Group, and we wish him all the best.”

Kleinanzeigen adds ability to save draft ads https://aimgroup.com/2025/05/05/kleinanzeigen-adds-ability-to-save-draft-ads/ Mon, 05 May 2025 05:07:49 +0000 https://aimgroup.com/?p=571952 Germany-based general goods marketplace Kleinanzeigen has introduced a feature that allows users to save drafts of their ads.

“Creating and editing classified ads is now more flexible than ever,” says Paul Heimann, CEO of Kleinanzeigen, adding that the new feature makes trading items easier, thereby strengthening secondhand sales as a “sustainable alternative to e-commerce.”

Moreover, users can now edit their ads across multiple devices — starting to write a listing on the browser of their computer before switching to the app to upload photos from their smartphone, for example. Until now, bridging this gap has been impossible without publishing the ad first.

Both business customers and private users will be able to save their ads as drafts for up to 60 days. Users will find their drafts stored above published ads.

What seems like a minor feature that should’ve been included from the very start is appears to be unique across general marketplaces in Germany, as the ability to save drafts is not provided by such rivals as Quoka.de and Markt.de.

According to Kleinanzeigen, which is owned by Norway-based Adevinta, it has more than 50 million listings and in excess of 36 million users monthly.

Hansjoerg Posch (above) has announced on LinkedIn that he is to become COO of the marketplaces segment at Austria-based newspaper Der Standard. He is currently CTO of marketplaces. He joined Der Standard in 2018. Posch’s move comes shortly after Boris Andrijevic stepped down as CCO of marketplaces at the company.

Der Standard operates Jobs.derstandard.at, Immobilien.derstandard.at (real estate) and Finden.at (jobs & real estate).

“For me, this is a new highlight in a journey that started some time ago with a growing interest in transactional business models and marketplaces. I enjoy the mission of providing tangible value to b-to-c + b-to-b customers enabling them both to grow; to make 1+1=3 a perceived reality,” Posch wrote in the post.

He also noted that Yvonne Fischer (head of sales), Patrick Brachner (head of user acquisition and analytics), Thomas Riener (head of software development) and Matteo Haas (head of operations &anddelivery) were joining the company’s management board.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Posch has launched several ventures and held a number of executive positions at different companies.

Prior to joining Der Standard, he was CTO at Styria Digital Services, a division of the Styria Media Group, where he oversaw digital operations for such publications as Die Presse and Kleine Zeitung, as well as WillHaben, Austria’s largest general goods marketplace. His own ventures have included Abb Media Solutions, a company focused on monetizing users of adblockers, and Moosify, a dating site integrated into the ProSiebenSat.1 media network. He also launched cloud music service TunesBag.com and open-source CRM solution OpenTeamware.

Der Standard’s marketplace division consists of four key areas:

  • Development Marketplaces, which oversees the technical development and maintenance of its sites
  • Product Marketplaces, which focuses on product management and enhancements
  • Sales Marketplaces, which drives revenue by managing client relationships and securing advertising partnerships
