Singapore-based auto marketplace Carro has launched its Carro Certified program in Hong Kong.
It includes a 160-point, AI-driven inspection, a five-day return policy, a 12-month warranty on the gearbox and engine and guarantees against mileage tampering and major accident history.
The AI technologies utilized by Carro Certified include Acoustic Engineering (a library of more than 310,000 processed audio samples of car sounds from multiple makes and models) and Computer Visioning to detect engine issues and body defects. These inspection reports are available online.
“Carro Certified has always been a key touchpoint for our business and an important step forward to redefining existing industry practices. As a tech and automotive company, we’re using our proprietary technology and data across our markets to ensure our used cars are held to standard” said Fong Hon Sum, Carro’s CEO of International Marketplace.
Early this year, Carro acquired Hong Kong-based BeyondCars for an undisclosed sum. It is now active in seven markets, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and Taiwan.
