Chinese EV manufacturer Zeekr has made Singapore-headquartered auto marketplace Carro its authorized dealer in Malaysia.

According to Carro’s news release, the two companies signed an MoU at Carro’s flagship store in Puchong, Malaysia, on June 16. Zeekr, which has three showrooms (Zeekr Spaces) in Malaysia, plans to open four more and three authorized Carro Care workshops in partnership with Carro.

As part of the collaboration, Zeekr’s customers will get access to Carro’s end-to-end services, including financing, aftersales and insurance services through Genie Financial Services, Carro Care, and Coverro, respectively, in addition to Zeekr’s standard dealer warranty.

Alex Bao, MD, Zeekr Southeast Asia, said the collaboration reinforced its commitment to expanding Zeekr’s presence in Malaysia: “Our partnership with Carro represents a significant milestone in that direction — enhancing both our sales network and after-sales capabilities to better support our customers.”

Carro’s collaboration with a carmaker comes just a few months after it ventured into sales of new parallel-imported cars in Singapore. In October 2024, it launched the Carro Certified program in Hong Kong.

Headquartered in Singapore, Carro has raised over SGD700 million ($545 million U.S.) in funding to date and has 5,000 employees across the Asia-Pacific region. In the 12 months to March 2024, it recorded SGD1.1 billion in revenue and is reportedly planning an IPO.
