The leading Kazakhstan-based online car reseller Mycar.kz has launched Myoffer – “the country’s first online used car auction, organized according to the best practices of the USA and Europe,” the company reported.
“The Myoffer auction is a big step towards civilization, digitalization and decriminalization of the second hand car market. This approach has long been used in developed countries, and now it is available in Kazakhstan,” said Nurlan Smagulov, founder of Astana Motors dealer network. All cars at the auction must pass technical and legal inspection.
The auction was presented at an industry conference on the development of a transparent used car market in Kazakhstan’s largest city and business capital Almaty. The inaugural auction was witnessed in person by Steve Greenfield, general partner of US-based Automotive Ventures, and Chip Perry, founder and former CEO of AutoTrader.com. Last February, Smagulov announced his intention to invest $3.5 million in Automotive Ventures.
