
Sahibinden.com has appointed seasoned ecommerce professional Hakan Orhun (above) to spearhead its new recommerce business, named Yepy.
In a news release to the AIM Group, Sahibinden welcomes Orhun as general manager to lead the secondhand shopping category with Yepy — a newly-launched marketplace for connecting resellers with buyers.
Over three decades of experience, Orhun joins from Turkish clothing brand Kiğılı where his last position was management cosultant, according to his profile. At Kiğılı, he also remained a c-level excecutive for retail and ecommerce operations. He also served as the president of the Electronic Commerce Operators Association.
“He [Orhun] simultaneously served as a management consultant to many companies operating in e-commerce, reorganization, e-transformation and similar areas in Turkey and the United States,” Sahibinden noted in the release.
“A graduate of Boğaziçi University, department of mechanical engineering, Orhun started his professional career at Boğaziçi Yazılım. Orhun then assumed the roles of product development engineer and laboratory coordinator at Arçelik. Between 2020-2021, he worked as corporate communications and customer services manager and deputy general manager responsible for operations at Metro İstanbul. He served as the general manager of İSPARK A.Ş. between 2021-2023.”
Founded in 2000 within the Aksoy Group, Sahibinden.com received 548.5 million visits by 64.4 million users on average per month and had 15.4 billion page views as of August 2024, according to the company. It has more than 8 million active listings.
